The World Fashion Week unveiled in Abuja

History was made when stakeholders of fashion industry gathered a few days ago to reward professionals in the industry, inaugurate The World Fashion Week in Nigeria and launch Fashion Academy. The event, which was organised by Legendary Gold Limited began with a press conference that took place at the La campaigne Tropicana Resort, Ikegun, Lagos where reporters from different media houses had an interactive session with the president of the World Fashion Council, Mr. Paco de Jaines. Paco De Jaines in his speech at the event where nine fashion designers show-cased their products said that the World Fashion Week is built to be an extension of other Fashion Weeks done in Europe and America. His Words: “This is an avenue of gathering fashion designers together to create a channel of promoting commerce, trade and relationship to open new doors to everyone. About 41 countries participate annually in a Seven-day World Fashion Week in the United States America where maximum of five fashion designers from each country display their designs. We are partnering with the United Nations to host the up-coming one which will take place in 2010. Also speaking, the director of The Legendary Gold Limited, Mr. Lexy Mojo-Eyes during his opening speech at the event eulogised stakeholders of the industry. Categories of awards at the event include; Model award, best fashion reporter, best fashion editor, best fashion photographer, among others.
